What's Actually Open at Century Farms Right Now, and What Still Isn't

September 10, 2026

For most of the last eight years, the safest thing to say about Century Farms was "not yet." Ikea walked away from the site in 2018 before a shovel hit dirt. Then it sat quiet long enough that plenty of Antioch residents stopped checking. If you're one of them, the gap between what you remember and what's actually running out there is bigger than you think, and the list of things still waiting on a permit is shorter than the neighborhood group chats make it sound.

The Reputation Took Longer to Catch Up Than the Construction Did

Century Farms sits on 300-plus acres off I-24, and its early years were defined by false starts more than ribbon cuttings. That history is why Metro Councilwoman Joy Styles has taken to correcting people directly. "If you haven't been in Antioch in a long time, I promise you're on your way back," she told reporters as the newest wave of tenants signed on. She's not selling optimism. She's updating a map that stopped matching reality somewhere around 2023.

Longtime resident Yusef Nso put it in blunter terms after moving back to the area: he said it now feels "like a mini California because there are so many things here now." That's not a developer's tagline. That's someone who lived through the empty-lot years describing what replaced them.

The List That's Actually Live

Here's what's open and operating in Century Farms as of this month, not what's rumored:

What Status
Tanger Outlets Open since October 2023, the corridor's original anchor
Whataburger Open, part of the wave that followed Tanger
In-N-Out Burger Opened in December 2025, on William Turner Parkway
Texas Roadhouse Opened in February 2026, brought roughly 220 jobs
PopStroke Opened December 28, 2025, at 4221 Century Farms Terrace
Madison Century Farms 266-unit apartment community, completed in October 2025

Six confirmed, dated openings in under three years, on land that was still being cleared for development as recently as 2019. That pace is the actual story here, not any single tenant.

The Rooftop Bar Nobody Had Two Years Ago

If you want proof this corridor stopped being a construction site, PopStroke is the clearest evidence. It's the brand's first all-seasons location anywhere, built with two indoor 18-hole courses and one outdoor course so weather stops mattering. At 52,000 square feet of indoor golf and 25,000 square feet of outdoor greens, it's being called the world's largest mini-golf venue, and its second floor gave Antioch its first rooftop bar, with views back toward downtown.

There's a scratch-kitchen restaurant, an ice cream parlor pouring 22 flavors, and outdoor games like cornhole and ping pong for the parts of the visit that don't involve a putter. If you've been meaning to check it out, there's an actual reason to go in the next two weeks: the PopStroke Invitational Tournament runs September 22 and 23, 2026, with a $70,000 purse on the line. That's not a soft-opening event nine months after the doors unlocked. That's a venue confident enough in its traffic to host a real tournament.

What's Still Just a Permit

Now the shorter list, the one worth knowing so you're not waiting on something that isn't actually close:

  • Target filed plans on February 11, 2026 for a 147,500-square-foot store with 590 parking spaces inside Century Farms. Filed is the operative word. No opening date has been set.
  • Chick-fil-A filed permits years ago for a drive-thru location with an outdoor dining area on Century Farms Terrace. That filing predates most of what's now open, and no opening announcement has surfaced since.
  • The Chinatown development's first building was expected to open by the end of January 2026, after weather pushed the original timeline back. Whether it's opened since hasn't been confirmed in any coverage since.
  • A hotel and a new town center behind the Pottery Barn are still described by Councilwoman Styles as projects "wrapping up," with two acres of planned open space attached to the town center piece.
  • The old Starwood Amphitheater site has a completed specific plan amendment on file with the city, and Styles says discussions with developers are ongoing about what replaces it, a decision that will shape Murfreesboro Road well beyond Century Farms itself.

That's five pending items against six confirmed openings. Two years ago the ratio ran the other way.

Why the Pending List Keeps Shrinking Instead of Growing

Here's the part locals tend to miss. Developments like this usually add rumors faster than they clear them, every new tenant announcement spawns three more "did you hear" texts, and the pending list balloons even as things open. Century Farms has done the opposite. In-N-Out, Texas Roadhouse, and PopStroke all moved from paperwork to open doors within the last year, and each opening seems to have tightened the remaining list rather than lengthened it. Styles has described the ambition plainly, saying that once Starwood and the mall site are accounted for, Antioch is "looking at really the second urban core for the city." That's a claim about scale, and the actual pace of confirmed openings over the past three years is the evidence backing it up.

For residents, the practical takeaway isn't which brand signed a lease. It's that the corridor has crossed a threshold where checking back every few months actually changes what you'll find, rather than confirming the same construction fencing you saw last time.

Go Check the List Yourself

The next two weeks give you an easy excuse. The PopStroke Invitational runs September 22 and 23 with a real purse attached, Texas Roadhouse has had about seven months to work out its kitchen rhythm, and Tanger's outlet mix has had nearly three full years to mature past its opening lineup. None of that requires waiting on Target's permit or the Chinatown building's next update. It's already there.

If you've watched Century Farms from a distance for years the way a lot of Antioch has, this is the month the distance stops making sense.
